a goddamn fucking visionary
Trust in your vision.
The genius. If you dabble in anything creative, you must be well aware of The Genius™ archetype. The Genius™ is a visionary, a creative mind, a little hard to work with or even straight up arrogant - but you deal with it regardless, because everything they touch turns into gold. Everything they touch is gold.
A regular fool. This is the title reserved for everyone who isn't a genius. We like thinking that the world is completely black or white, so you're either a genius, or a regular fool. What are the characteristics of a regular fool? Well, for one, you don't know their name. Or their identity. Or their life. You can't name a single thing they did. You wouldn't even know you passed by them on a crowded street someday.
Most people grow up learning that they're completely average. Beaten and battered up by the world, they fit themselves into a mass-produced mould. And they lose their spark. And they become dissatisfied with their lives.

WHO THE FUCK TOLD YOU THAT YOU CAN'T BE A CERTIFIED FUCKING GENIUS??? I believe that everyone has some sort of capacity to be a goddamn fucking visionary in whatever it is that they're doing. So here's some advice: You will never be a visionary if you don't think you are one already. Everyone fucking loves trampling on satisfied people. Everyone has some sort of inferiority complex that they deal with. Everyone projects on other people. And everyone includes you and I as well. We are not exempt from this.
You will be lucky if other people have faith in you. But you need to have faith in yourself. This is not a fake-it-till-you-make-it kind of situation. Trust that you're a visionary. Trust that you can do whatever it is that you want to do. Trust that you have it in you. Because this is the prerequisite. It will be hard to exist in the world without believing in yourself. You are unique, you have a unique vision and you have it in you to make it come to life. Trust, trust, trust, trust. Get over your inferiority complex, it doesn't serve you in any way.

You are also a regular fool! Believing that you are a visionary does not mean that you start having a superiority complex. So, completely understand that you are a regular fool. It might sound contradictory, but it isn't. You need to be humble and realise that everyone has a unique life of their own. Everyone has their own nuanced thoughts. Never underestimate another person. You don't know what it's like to be them, and you don't know the kind of treasures that they harbour in their mind.
How to be a visionary:
Know that you are a visionary.
Observe the world around you.
Be a sponge, take in all the information you can.
Live your life and experience all that you can.
Know that you are a regular fool.
Listen to the people around you.
Form deep connections with them.
Hone your craft.
Think on paper.
Think a lot.
Understand that it's not that serious.

Defend your ideas. Personal anecdote time! As a girl, I often get underestimated and sometimes even straight up disrespected by other creatives in my field. It is very annoying. At first, I believed everything they were saying. And then I realised that this is just part of a bigger issue. Women are trained to suppress their own desires, wishes and needs. We are trained to listen to men. The patriarchy fucking exists! I realised that I needed to stop being extra nice when I'm defending my ideas. I need to be ruthless in my quest of making sure that my idea is heard and understood. I am obviously open to receiving criticism. Obviously. But only after you've fucking listened to what I have to say! Only after you've given me a chance. So yes, I will stand by my ideas. We can't all steer the ship in a project. There needs to be a captain. And I have every right to be captain, just like everyone else.
